Empty Bowls McKinney gives local artists and the community an opportunity to join efforts in filling empty bowls. 100% of our event proceeds go to fighting hunger. 140,000 Collin County residents are food insecure and nearly 9,000 McKinney children will go to bed hungry tonight. 45% of food stamp recipients are children.

This unique annual event features a showcase of one-of-a-kind bowls handcrafted by professional, student, and community artists. Guests enjoy a sampling of gourmet soups, breads, and sweets prepared by chefs from local restaurants. They take home one of these empty bowls as a reminder of all the empty bowls due to hunger in the local community.

Proceeds of the event go to food initiatives at Community Lifeline Center to provide food for their Community Lifeline Market as well as Feeding Friends and Families mobile distributions and to Community Garden Kitchen to serve hot meals to anyone in need, no questions asked.
